IS THERE ROOM FOR FAITH-BASED DATA COMMUNITIES ONLINE?
Hi everyone,
I've been working on some small projects that sit at the intersection of data accessibility and community building, especially in regions like South Asia where digital inclusion is still growing.
While exploring open APIs like FishBase, it got me thinking:
Can structured data platforms like this also inspire faith-based communities to engage with tech — not just as users, but as contributors?
I came across a Pakistani digital space — Chatbook.pk — where users are creating dialogue around identity, education, technology, and even data accessibility, all within the context of faith and culture. It's not developer-specific, but it reminded me that data literacy and digital faith spaces don’t have to be separate worlds.
What do you think?
Is there potential in bringing open data concepts to regional or religious communities?
Have you seen projects that merge tech and culture in this way?
Would love to hear thoughts from folks here — especially those working on community-driven data initiatives.
