Where Do You Start When Looking for Financial Advice?

I’ve been trying to get a better handle on my finances lately budgeting, saving, planning for the future.
But every time I search for financial help, I end up more confused.
There are so many advisors with different titles, backgrounds, and services.
How do you know who’s actually qualified to help and not just selling products?
Is it better to go with someone who specializes in certain areas like retirement or property?
Also, does location still matter if most meetings can be done online now?
I’d appreciate any advice from those who’ve gone through this and found someone helpful.
What questions should I be asking during the first meeting?
And how do you measure if the advice is actually working for you?
