How to get taxonomic rank and habitat by species id?

Dear Fishbase API people, The service "species by id" (https://fishbaseapi.readme.io/docs/species-by-id) does not return information about taxonomic rank and habitats. Conversely, service "taxa" does return this information, but for all species at once. How can I get this information for a given species id? Thanks in advance for your help and advice. Franck.

Thanks for your question Franck. Sorry but the docs are a bit out of date. I'll udpate them soon.

You can get habitat information using the /ecology/:id route - e.g.,
https://fishbase.ropensci.org/ecology/26/

For taxa, there is no way to get data for a single id, but I've opened an issue to add that https://github.com/ropensci/fishbaseapi/issues/129

Thank you for your quick reply Scott.

Is there a mailing list where I could subscribe to be updated of the Github issue progress?

Franck.

I'd suggest signing up for a Github account if you don't have one already, It's free. Then on the right hand side near the bottom you can click the Subscribe button and then you'll get emails when there's action on the issue.

Yes of course, I've not even thought about that ;)

Thank you Scott,
